History

dare2shop was initially launched in 2004 and has been relaunched in October 2006 to provide the quickest, easiest way to connect online shoppers with recommended retailers. Our aim is to help our thousands of visitors find the products they're looking for from reputable online retailers who will provide excellent service.

How do we decide which sites to list?

When a site is submitted to us we consider a number of factors to determine the overall rating and position of the site on our listings:

Security features of the site - if credit cards are taken on-site, SSL is a must or we will not list them.
Product range, pricing and delivery charges, along with the clarity of this information.
Sites based in the UK are preferred due to quicker delivery times and clearer pricing, but we will list sites outside the UK which deliver here.
Full contact details e.g. phone number, postal address
Quality, clarity and availability of customer service information, including privacy, refund and dispute resolution policies.
A review of the site's look, feel and ease of use.

Once all these factors are taken into account a site is awarded a rating out of 5 stars, and then compared against other shops in it's sector to determine it's overall positioning within our guides.

Technology on the site tracks visits to each site which can push a popular site to the top of our listings.

How is the site funded?

The site is funded via sponsorship and advertising onsite, as well as money incoming from other side projects run by the dare2shop team.
